Villa Bayu Gita

This truly spectacular villa is located down a quaint lane in the charming seaside village of Ketewel in the Gianyar region of south-east Bali. The area has been quietly attracting surfers from around the world for years and with its direct beachfront access, all you have to do is grab your surfboard and the waves are all yours.

It’s wonderful sense of space combined with its incredible location, offering guests one of the most dramatic backdrops in Bali, make this villa ideal for events; anything from a large celebration to an intimate family get together.

VILLA LAYOUT

A stunning walkway over a fishpond leads past the dining room and into the large vestibule area. The villa’s ground floor houses two bedrooms, the kitchen, and a lounge that opens widely onto the garden. The garden boasts an enormous swimming pool with jacuzzi, an outdoor lounge, a covered dining and bar area, and a boardwalk leading to the beach. Stairs from the vestibule lead downstairs to the gym, cinema and games room and upstairs to two more bedrooms.

The villa’s two master bedrooms, both with plunge pools, can be accessed from the vestibule or from a separate gate at the main entrance.

LIVING AND DINING AREAS

Bayu Gita has plenty of indoor living areas where you can simply relax and take in the views or be entertained. The living room, which comes with iPod docking station, has a stunning traditional pitched rattan roof living room and is surrounded by glass doors, which can be opened to allow guests to luxuriate on the comfortable sofas, cooled by sea breezes. More glass doors in the dining room slide open to create a lovely sense of space, while a stunning teak table for 14 overlooks a hanging wall garden.

There’s no better place to catch up on the latest movies than Bayu Gita’s state-of-the-art ten-seat cinema. Relax in air-conditioned comfort on the leather couches and watch one of the five hundred movies on offer. The games room, which looks onto the hanging wall garden, comes with a billiard table, darts and bar and is the ideal spot to spend fun-filled hours. If you feel the need to keep in shape the gym comes equipped with machines, weights and has a shower and bathroom attached.

With views like these, you’ll want to take advantage of Bayu Gita’s outdoor living areas. The bar and dining area overlooking the ocean is perfect for enjoying an early morning breakfast or sipping cocktails as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean. The covered balé, furnished with with sofas, can easily accommodate ten people, and the dining table can seat fourteen. The enormous swimming pool and jacuzzi, surrounded by beautiful Balinese statue and water features, is edged with eight sun loungers shaded by umbrellas. There’s also another outdoor sitting area for those wanting to watch the action from a peaceful distance.

BEDROOMS

- Master bedrooms
The villa boasts two master bedrooms set privately away from the main house. Both of these spacious king-bedded rooms have their own plunge pool, a furnished outdoor living area with seating, an indoor lounge room with satellite television, DVD player and iPod docks as well as enormous ensuite bathrooms featuring indoor and outdoor shower and bath.

- Guest bedroom 1
This ground floor bedroom, accessed via a hallway of merbau-wood shutters, has two single beds, making it ideal for families (the beds can also be conveniently joined together to form a king). The room is equipped with a television, DVD player, and features marble floors, a dressing area and sliding doors which lead, via a small dressing area, to an ensuite bathroom with sunken granite bathtub and shower.

- Guest bedroom 2
On the other side of the hallway, also accessed via a walkway featuring merbau shutters, lies the second guest bedroom which features a king-size bed, writing desk with lovely views overlooking palm trees, television, DVD player, marble floors and sliding doors which open onto a wooden deck overlooking the swimming pool and garden, and offering the best sunrise views. The bathroom is accessed by sliding doors via a small dressing area and features a sunken granite bathtub and a shower.

- Guest bedrooms 3 and 4
The two first-floor guest bedrooms are accessed via a wooden staircase. Guest bedroom 3 is also furnished with two single beds that can be joined together to make a king, while guest bedroom 4 has a king-size bed. Both rooms are equipped with a television, DVD player, dressing room and ensuite bathroom with sunken bathtub and shower. Bedroom 3 has a wooden deck surrounded by stunning bougainvillea and with views over the rice paddies, while bedroom 4’s deck is furnished with a daybed and boasts stunning ocean views.

STAFF

One of the greatest advantages of staying in a villa is the personalised service provided by dedicated staff. Bayu Gita’s staff have been professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly Balinese hospitality.

- Villa manager
Bayu Gita's friendly and experienced manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. His job is to oversee and coordinate the staff and property and to assist guests during their stay.

- Chef and cook
The villa’s skilled private chef and cook will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children’s suggestion menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements.

- Housekeeping
Housekeeping staff will look after daily housekeeping and domestic duties

- Service staff
Butlers and waitresses are on hand to serve food and drinks throughout the day and to assist the villa manager with any requests guests may have.

- Garden and pool
Bayu Gita’s gardens and pools are maintained daily and general maintenance and engineering staff are always on hand.

- Security
Four guards provide 24-hour security.

DINING

Bayu Gita’s chef and cook are at your service to prepare daily breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner.

The villa offers an extensive suggestion menu of delicious home-style meals featuring Asian and international dishes to cater to all tastes, with an excellent selection of vegetarian and children’s options. The chef is also more than happy to tailor meals to accommodate any special dietary requirements. A stay is not complete without sampling the chef’s pepes ikan (fish steamed in banana leaf), satay ayam (chicken satay on bamboo skewers) or pisang goreng (fried banana) with ice cream.

Groceries and beverages are charged at cost plus 20%++ surcharge. Guests will be requested to provide grocery money in advance, and the staff will do the shopping and keep the receipts for reference. To make the most of the kitchen and give staff time to shop, it is a good idea to plan meals the evening before.

FAMILIES AT BAYU GITA

The family friendly advantages of a villa holiday are many, including access to your own private facilities and the freedom to use them whenever you want. Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without you having to worry about other guests, is a real plus – and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too.

Bayu Gita is a great villa for families with older children. With a choice of pools, Wii, Xbox and well-stocked home cinema, there is plenty to keep them amused. Younger children will also love the villa, although parents will need to be vigilant on the beach as the water is not suitable for swimming.

The team of friendly staff at Bayu Gita will make children feel as welcome as adults, and having these willing helpers on hand gives guests plenty of flexibility and freedom to do their own exploring beyond the villa grounds (full-time babysitting incurs a small extra cost).

Although the equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies with ease, staff will happily to do this for you – just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or chef and they will take care of the rest. Pancakes by the pool for breakfast? Toasties for tea? No problem. The chef can customise all meals to suit children’s taste buds.
