THE VILLA

Entering through Villa Sila Varee’s antique Indonesian Batak doors, you step into a magical, tropical oasis, complete with its own waterfall. You immediately sense the quiet, calming energy of the forested hillside, your body relaxes and you feel totally at peace. Winding stone walkways lead to the villa itself, where amazing views extend over the infinity pool to the waters of the Gulf of Siam shimmering below. Neighbouring islands stand proud on the horizon, creating the perfect canvas for jaw-dropping sunsets and refined, authentic island living.

With open plan luxurious living and five spacious bedrooms, all with sea views, contemporary designs, antique Asian artwork and modern entertainment systems both inside and out, Villa Sila Varee is perfect for a family or group of friends with relaxation and pampering on their minds. Relax by the pool, write a novel, sketch or paint on the upstairs deck, head down to the beach or seek out a tropical island adventure…

The villa is within easy reach of a number sought after restaurants, wellness centres, waterfalls, temples, cultural attractions and harbours where you can hire a boat to those beckoning islands. A 4-wheel drive SUV and driver are on hand to take you wherever your heart desires, although with a private chef available to prepare and serve delicious home-cooked Asian or Western meals, you may never wish to leave. However you decide to spend your time, a stay at Villa Sila Varee is sure to leave you feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to face the outside world again.

VILLA LAYOUT

The property is set on three levels. In the centre stands a two-storey building with two twin bedrooms on the ground floor alongside the infinity pool, sun terrace and outside dining and barbecue area. Above this is an open-plan, informal living area with kitchen, comfortable dining and lounge areas with full length glass doors leading out to a covered terrace with a huge dining table seating 12 and even more fabulous ocean views.

On each side of this main building is a master bedroom pavilion set among the landscaped tropical gardens. Below the pool level lies the fifth bedroom.

INDOOR LIVING

With picture-postcard ocean views from almost everywhere, Villa Sila Varee’s main living area has concertina style glass walls that fold open to blur the boundaries between inside and out. The interior décor features Anglo-Burmese tables, Tibetan furniture, Balinese teak coffee tables, contemporary works of art, sisal rugs and custom-made sofas. Hand-made light fittings highlight the rattan lined vaulted ceilings. The kitchen is modern whilst retaining a comfortable, casual feel. A dining table for four sits inside, whilst a massive Balinese dining table for twelve takes pride of place on the covered terrace. Complimentary breakfast is served here every morning. Two coffee tables with comfy chairs also populate the terrace. WiFi is available throughout as well as satellite TV viewed on High Definition LCD flat-screens and a Hi-Fi sound system with iPod dock linked to both interior and exterior speakers.

This lovely indoor–outdoor living area is a great place to relax and unwind to some favourite music, enjoy a movie, or bury yourself in a good book.

OUTDOOR LIVING

The 9.5-metre salt-water infinity pool is protected by solid glass balustrades and has gentle steps down into its depths. Stave off the tropical heat with a refreshing dip while admiring the ocean views below or the jungle-clad hillside above. A large limestone sun terrace furnished with five sun loungers and a large sofa encourages you to soak up some sunshine, whilst a covered barbecue area provides seats in the shade and comes with an outdoor kitchen where you can rustle up a snack or mix a cocktail or two.

The two master bedrooms both offer outdoor relaxation on timber decks furnished with a pair of sunbeds, and the lawned landscaped garden next to Master bedroom 1 makes a shady sanctuary for children and adults alike.

BEDROOMS

All five bedrooms at Villa Sila Varee are decorated with antique Asian art and have air conditioning, ensuite bathrooms with rain showers and dressing areas, a digital safe, WiFi and satellite TV with High Definition LCD screens, DVD players, yoga mats, a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities.

Master Suite 1
Master suite 1 is set in a stand-alone two-storey pavilion, has 3.5 metre-wide, full length windows looking out over the infinity pool and the ocean and its own sun deck with two sunbeds. On the mezzanine level is a living area with a sink-into sofa and arm chair, coffee table and hidden flat-screen TV. Upstairs is the king-size contemporary four-poster bed and ensuite bathroom with two sinks, a jacuzzi bath and two showers, one of which is outside and built into the rocky hillside. Feel at one with nature in this blissful sanctuary and let those tranquil ocean views soothe you into a perfect day.

Master Suite 2
This second stand-alone bedroom pavilion is virtually identical to Master Suite 1 but without the inside shower. It offers the same gorgeous interior, luxurious facilities and spectacular views.

Twin Bedrooms 3 & 4
Conveniently situated next door to each other and facing the infinity pool and sun deck, both of these rooms have twin beds that can easily be joined together to make a double if required. With bathrooms crafted into the rock of the hillside behind and full-length sliding glass doors open to those magical ocean views at the front, these rooms luxuriate in their natural surrounds.

Double Bedroom 5
This double bedroom offers views down the hillside and across the ocean right from your bed. Slightly smaller than the other rooms, and tucked away below the rest of the villa, this room is a peaceful spot for quietly admiring the view. The room’s ensuite bathroom is fitted with a rain shower.

STAFF

Staying in a staffed villa means you get the best personalised service from dedicated staff. Villa Sila Varee’s caring staff are on-hand to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. Be sure to let your villa manager know how much staff presence you are comfortable with – for example, at breakfast only, for all meals or on-hand all day to serve iced drinks and be available for any queries or requests. The service can be tailored to suit your requirements.

Villa Manager
Villa Sila Varee‘s friendly manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. The manager’s job is to oversee and coordinate the staff and property and to assist guests during their stay.

Housekeepers
2 Housekeepers attend to daily cleaning, tidying and maintenance, preparing and serving breakfast and serving drinks or snacks throughout the day if required.

Chef
The villa chef is trained in local and international cuisine and oversees the market shopping and preparation of all guest meals. The chef will happily prepare dishes from the villa’s suggestion menu, as well accommodating special culinary requests and dietary requirements.

DINING

Start your day at Villa Sila Varee with a complimentary breakfast of cereals, fresh bakery products, sausage, bacon and eggs any which way you choose, alongside fresh juice and tea or coffee whilst savouring those sea views. Just let the villa manager know your schedule and your breakfast will be ready when you are.

One of the advantages of villa holidays is the ability to self-cater, but your villa manager will be pleased to organise a chef to cater for you at the villa should you prefer to leave kitchen duties to someone else. An extensive menu of tasty homemade Thai or international meals is available as well as a poolside barbecue, but the chef will be happy to prepare meals to suit any special dietary requirements or cook something not on the menu.

Groceries are charged at market price plus a 20% handling fee and a government tax, with minimum shopping fee of THB 750. Guests are encouraged to plan their meals at least a day in advance with a chef. Villa staff will take care of all the shopping and keep the receipts for reference.

FOR FAMILIES

Knowing your children can run around having fun and staying safe is a huge bonus for all parents on holiday.

This family-friendly private villa is part of the exclusive Santhikiri Estate with its own security. The villa has a garden laid with lawn which makes a great children’s play area and although the infinity pool is secured with a glass balustrade on the outer edges, it is not fully fenced, so families with very young children will need to be vigilant.

The child-friendly staff at Villa Sila Varee will be on-hand to keep a protective eye on them around the villa grounds, although full-time babysitting incurs an extra cost.

The fully equipped kitchen allows you to easily prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies, although staff will be happy to do this for you at breakfast time and a private chef for other meals if required – just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager and they will take care of the rest.
